Power over Ethernet or PoE for short is a technology that allows power to be transmitted over a LAN cable. This allows a single cable to simultaneously power devices and provide information exchange on the network. This technology is used especially in monitoring systems for IP cameras, VoIP phones, Internet access points (Access Point) and POS terminals. PoE-enabled devices are convenient to use, as we reduce the effort and finances in setting up a network. Normally, we would have to pull a separate power and transmission cable for each camera, for example. With PoE support, on the other hand, we can use only one, which will both provide electrical power and transmit information.
