Tower Servers: Performance and Versatility for Small and Medium Businesses

What are the characteristics of Tower servers?

Tower servers are relatively small, versatile servers designed primarily for small and medium-sized businesses. They are efficient and easy-to-use devices, ideal for organizations that see no need in setting up their own extensive server infrastructure.

Advantages of tower servers:

Space savings: Tower servers are small in size and have a vertical design in a free-standing enclosure. As a result, they can be placed anywhere without wasting valuable space. This is a huge advantage for small businesses that typically do not have a separate server room.

Configurability: tower servers are characterized by the possibility of easy-to-implement configuration, which is not experienced in competing RACK models. They have a large number of PCI-Express slots, allowing even those with basic technical knowledge to install controllers, network cards and other expansion cards. The number of ports in tower chassis is always higher than in rack counterparts, allowing for a more customizable design.

Quiet operation: tower servers are designed with quiet operation in mind. The enclosures use fewer, but much larger and slower-rotating fans, which minimizes the perception of noise compared to rack servers.

Faultlessness: choosing the right power supply is crucial for trouble-free operation of tower servers. Recommended power supplies range from 600W to 1280W. A tower server version with a redundant power supply allows you to keep your server safe at an even higher level.

Choosing a tower server

On the market you will find many standalone servers from different manufacturers. However, it is most often recommended to choose a device from the following brands: Dell, HPE or Lenovo. Before making a choice, it is worth consulting our staff. They are knowledgeable about different models and will help you choose the right unit for your company's individual needs.
